Other Library Entities

There are six separate library entities in Ada County. Three are independent: Kuna, Meridian, and Ada County Free Library District. Three are under the jurisdiction and management of city governments: Boise, Garden City, and Eagle. Five of the six library districts in Ada County are each geographically compact. For example, the three library districts housed within city governments—Boise, Eagle, and Garden City, all follow the city limits and the areas of impact of those cities as annexations occur. Even the other two independent library districts, Meridian and Kuna, are compact geographically and their boundaries generally align with the city limits or the school districts of those cities. However, the Ada County Free Library District, a/k/a Ada Community Library is entirely unique. It is separated into three unconnected geographical areas: Star, North County, and South County.
