Population Growth

There are three main population areas within the Ada County Free Library District, and they are totally disconnected geographically. What we call South County is by far the largest growth area. This area is south of the Boise City limits, and generally east of Meridian, and north of Kuna. The next largest growth area is within and surrounding the City of Star. The third area of growth is centered in Hidden Springs and Cartwright Ranch and nearby residential developments in what we call North County. As all three of these population centers have grown extensively since the district was organized in 1984, the Board of Trustees has extended library services locations accordingly.
